Women’s Group Coaching – 2026 Off to a Flying (and Sunny!) Start

Today marked the first women’s group coaching session of 2026, led by our new PGA Assistant Professional, Morgan Porter. It was also a beautiful sunny day—thankfully proving that my arrival at West Surrey doesn’t always bring closed courses and rain, despite recent evidence to the contrary!

What has been constant, however, is the incredibly warm welcome from the members, staff, and everyone around the club—it’s been fantastic.

Today’s session focused on the basics of putting, with a full hour spent covering fundamentals, feel, and confidence on the greens. It was great fun, with plenty of progress made along the way. We saw some noticeable improvements, a couple of grip tweaks, and one particularly decisive moment when a player changed their grip entirely—followed immediately by a trip to the shop for a brand-new grip!

A brilliant first session, with lots of laughter in a very relaxed atmosphere. I’m really looking forward to checking out the ladies’ putting scores when the competitions get going—and when all the rain has finally gone!

Women’s group coaching sessions are open to all female members, with session days varying depending on my work schedule. In addition, my coaching is open to all members, not just the women’s sessions, so please feel free to get in touch if you’d like individual or group coaching.

If you’d like to join the women’s sessions, please contact me to be added to the FORE!! the Ladies WhatsApp group. This is where session details will be shared and where you’re very welcome to ask questions.

No question is ever silly—if you don’t know the answer, that’s exactly what the group is for. And if I don’t know the answer, I’ll go and find out and get back to you.

Looking forward to seeing more of you over the coming weeks.

Best wishes,
Morgan Porter
